A restaurant with very busy bar even after it closes, I can see why this one makes the list (#99).  While not the fanciest or the most hidden they 426 Japanese whiskeys(as of writing this) is rather impressive.  That trend of Japanese whiskey continues as you look at their cocktails that they have exhibited around the globe(according to their menu). Overall a pretty cool place that has shifted traditional drinks to meet their style. The old passioned is a good example. A take on an old fashioned with Japanese whiskey and passionfruit, including on the “passionfruit paint” used on the ice cubes.

The food an ambiance really help this place shine. A DJ was spinning 80/90s songs all night at a level loud enough to be fun but also low enough for easy conversation, a rare mix. We tried a sampling of the menu starting with the Asian inspired side the yellowtail tartare was smooth and delicious covered with a small amount of caviar. Next some chicken wings, interesting presentation with 3 small wings on 2 skewers but the flavors were good with a sticky sauce (towels to wash your hands were provided). We did get some vegetables with a tempura if that counts and light and refreshing salad. The real starts of the meal however were the meat dishes. The caramelised sirloin came first with a miso glaze that was amazing in a perfect medium rare. Then the beef tenderloin in a ginger and black pepper sauce that was recommended medium and really stole the show.
