I had some pretty high expectations for this place after going to some others on both the Top500bars and Forbes50 list. My first impression was not stellar but this is #3 so I will give it some more time. You have to find your way past the staircase in the lobby of the hotel (The outside doors are locked and covered). The service will be impeccable you would think since there must be 20 people working with a bar that seats less than 100, yet it did take quite a while to order a drink but the menu takes quite a while to read since the cocktails are nothing you have seen. I would not say it was bad just a little less attentive than i expected. I will say the entire place felt a little stuffy for my tastes which seems like it fits the hotel as a whole. The menu is adventurous to say the least. I went with one of their “masterpieces” the Good Fellas, Cardamom leaf-infused Woodford Reserve whiskey, Martini rubino, Abbott’s bitters, black cardamom syrup, balsamic vinegar, Elicrisio aroma. Bert nice flavor and great presentation with a hanging cherry although it was the first cocktail bar in London that didn’t explain the drink.
If you are a gin fan then get the martini, the tableside presentation from their “trolley” is pretty cool.
